New standard ISO 45001 - OH&S management system

In march 2018, ISO 45001:2018 that replaces BS OHSAS 18001:2007 was issued. There is currently a transition period during which both standards are valid. Transition period will end in March 2021. After this date, all certificates issued according to BS OHSAS 18001:2007 will become invalid. Certified organizations should adopt their occupational health and safety management system to ISO 45001:2018 requirements during transition period.

The new standard brings several significant changes, e.g.:

• enhanced emphasis on leadership and responsibility for management system by top management
• understanding the needs and expectations of interested parties
• risk and opportunities control
• enhanced emphasis on consultancy and participation of workers
• and others.
